D-Nice True Hip Hop Stories with Masta Ace

Posted in Music on April 20, 2009 by theare

D-Nice did this video awhile back but after seeing it again, I wanted to post it.
Anyone that knows my hip hop background knows that I was a huge Juice Crew fan. From Kool G Rap, Big daddy Kane, Mc Shan, Masta Ace to Biz, I was in it. I finally got a chance to work with Masta Ace and his crew EMC on their last album and it was an honor.
If you haven’t seen this video, Ace tells an interesting story of the classic record “The Symphony”.

Zumbi of Zion I & The ARE present The Burnerz

Posted in Music on April 7, 2009 by theare

Me and Zunbi have been working on a project now for quite some time. It should be about ready very soon. Zumbi reached out to me the other day and said he wanted to do a joint addressing all the police situations that had been going on thoughout Oakland and other cities. He asked if I had any NWAish type joints. Based on the subject matter I just felt that the track needed to be alittle chaotic so I made a beat on the spot chopping up some sounds and this was the result.

R.I.P Tony D

Posted in News on April 5, 2009 by theare

Man, it seems like yesterday we talked on ichat. Tony was a kool dude and a Legend. Some of his records were what brought me even closer to hip hop. Poor Righteous Teachers “Rock this Funky Joint”, “Shakilah”, YZ “Thinking of a Master Plan” and the list goes on. He’ll be missed but his music will live on. My condolences go out to his family.
